Get More Out of ChatGPT With These Hidden Features
I’ve spent a lot of time experimenting with ChatGPT, and I’ve found some lesser-known features that take this LLM from useful to indispensable.
Here are some of my favorite hacks:
1️⃣ Give ChatGPT Control Over Your Computer
Pro users can now use Operator Mode, which allows ChatGPT to take over certain tasks on your device, similar to an IT support agent remotely controlling your computer.
You stay in control—it asks for confirmation before executing actions.
Works best for repetitive tasks like booking a meeting or organizing files.
2️⃣ Call ChatGPT Like a Customer Support Line
Yes, you can actually call ChatGPT on the phone. If you're in the U.S., dial 1-800-CHATGPT for 15 minutes of free AI-powered conversation—no account required.
3️⃣ Customize How ChatGPT Interacts with You
ChatGPT now allows advanced customization, so you can:
Set your preferred tone and style.
Have it remember specific details about you (job role, interests, writing preferences).
Reduce the back-and-forth in prompts by making sure AI already knows what you want.
⚠️ Click your profile icon → select Customize ChatGPT.
4️⃣ Use AI Vision for Real-Time Assistance
With Advanced Voice Mode, ChatGPT can now "see" what’s in front of your phone’s camera. This can be useful for:
Troubleshooting tech issues by showing the screen instead of describing it.
Getting AI-powered accessibility support (like identifying grocery items for visually impaired users).
5️⃣ Organize Your Chats with ‘Projects’
Sick of scrolling through old chat history? Projects lets you create folders for different topics, organize chats neatly, and apply unique settings to each workspace.
6️⃣ Automate Tasks and Save Time
ChatGPT isn’t just for answering questions—it can run scheduled tasks and help you stay organized.
Pull news updates automatically – “Every Monday morning, summarize the latest AI and marketing news for me.”
Set recurring reminders – “Remind me every Friday to review my content calendar and check campaign performance.”
Fetch and format data – Need a regular report? ChatGPT can pull insights and structure them in a way that’s easy to use.
Pair this with Operator Mode (Pro feature) to fully automate workflows—pulling reports, scheduling check-ins, and even integrating with external tools.
7️⃣ Memory Mode: ChatGPT That Remembers
ChatGPT remembers details across conversations (but only if memory is on). This means:
It remembers your preferences (like writing tone or job role).
It learns from past conversations, so you don’t have to repeat yourself.
It gets better over time—like a personal AI assistant that knows you.
⚠️ Check your settings → toggle memory on/off.
A fun way to test how well ChatGPT knows you? Ask it to create an image of you based on what it remembers. The first time I tried this, I was expecting something completely random—but I was shocked at how close it got! If you’ve been using ChatGPT for a while, give it a shot. You might be surprised at what it comes up with.

ChatGPT knows me much too well!
How to try it: Make sure you’re using GPT 4o and then pop in this prompt, "Based on what you know about me, create an image about my life."
These AI hacks have saved me time, improved my workflow, and made ChatGPT way more useful. Try them out, and let me know which one makes the biggest difference for you!

The Best ChatGPT Tactics From AI Experts
I spend a lot of time learning from people who are deep in AI—building with it, experimenting, and pushing its limits.
Here are their top ChatGPT hacks:
Use Markdown to Structure Prompts
ChatGPT follows instructions better when your prompts are structured. Simon Schmitz says writing them in Markdown format with headers makes your intent clear and keeps AI responses organized.
Example:
# Objective – Provide a step-by-step guide on how to create a LinkedIn post that maximizes engagement.
# Target Audience – Aspiring professionals and content creators looking to grow their presence.
# Requirements – Concise (under 300 words), bullet points for key takeaways, and a high-performing example.
# Output Format – Present as a numbered guide with clear steps.
Staged Prompting for Custom GPTs
Building a Custom GPT? A staged approach works best. Carolyn Healey says start with a broad request, then refine it step by step. Instead of dumping a massive dataset into GPT, guide it like a conversation.
Ask for a content strategy first, then specify the target audience, brand voice, and messaging pillars. Prompt ChatGPT to ask clarifying questions—this ensures it captures the details you might have missed.
A GPT That Sells Like serial entrepreneur Alex Hormozi
Looking for AI-powered sales coaching? Audrey Chia says to try out the Alex Sales GPT. Inspired by Alex Hormozi’s sales playbook, it gives no-fluff advice on closing deals, overcoming objections, and using price anchoring.

The Formula for Better AI Outputs
Want to turn ChatGPT from a generic chatbot into a high-impact assistant? Jonathan Kvarfordt says it comes down to five things:
Be specific – Instead of “Generate insights on sales,” say, “Analyze sales trends over the last 6 months and highlight key opportunities by segment.”
Use roles – “You’re a VP of Revenue at a high-growth SaaS company. What are your top three strategies to increase expansion revenue?”
Chain of thought – “Break down customer churn in three phases: historical patterns, leading indicators, and proactive retention strategies.”
Few-shot learning – Show AI what “good” looks like. “Here’s a winning cold email. Now write one for the cybersecurity industry.”
Control output format – Want bullet points? A table? A structured framework? Tell ChatGPT exactly how to respond.
Better prompts = better results. Test, refine, and scale.
Upload PDFs for More Accurate AI Analysis
Ever asked ChatGPT to summarize an article from a URL and gotten a vague or completely wrong response? That’s because ChatGPT sometimes struggles to pull content directly from links.
Tony Carne’s solution? Download the article as a PDF and upload it instead. This forces ChatGPT to work with the actual text rather than trying to infer details based on your prompt.
Works great for long-form research, reports, and in-depth analysis.
Avoids the risk of ChatGPT making up answers based on incomplete or inaccessible web content.
Lets you ask specific questions about the document—“Summarize the key takeaways” or “Pull out the most important stats.”
Use Live Web Search for Smarter Content Strategy
Melissa Reeves’ favorite ChatGPT hack? Using live web search to find content opportunities. Instead of brainstorming in a vacuum, she lets AI analyze real-time information and suggest high-value ideas.
For example, when pitching a podcast, she asks:
"Analyze the topics from the last 10 episodes of [Podcast Name] and suggest an episode idea I could pitch based on my expertise in AI integration for marketing teams."
ChatGPT scans the latest episodes, spots patterns, identifies gaps, and even drafts a pitch tailored to the podcast’s audience and style.
This approach works for website analysis, guest post submissions, and any situation where you need fresh insights from live web data. It’s an easy way to take AI from a basic assistant to a strategic research tool.
How to Make ChatGPT Content Sound More Human

ChatGPT is great for speed and efficiency, but sometimes its responses sound a little... robotic. Sanchit Shangari’s process helps smooth out AI-generated content so it feels more natural and human.
Here’s how to do it:
Generate content with ChatGPT – Get your draft ready.
Paste it into BypassGPT.ai – This tool refines AI-generated text to make it more human-like.
Select ‘Humanize’ – It adjusts the tone, flow, and sentence structure.
Run it through ZeroGPT – This ensures your content isn’t flagged as AI-generated.
This method is great for blog posts, social media captions, and professional emails—anything where AI needs to blend in seamlessly with human writing.
Feeding AI with the Right Context - Beyond Basic Objectives

Tom Winter says strong content starts with strong research. The richer your data, the more insightful your AI content will be.
The best AI-generated content comes from feeding it your insights, your expertise, and high-quality data. Without this, you’ll get generic, forgettable output. That's why he created The CyborgMethod™ – a system for collaborating with AI like a partner.
Here's it is in a nutshell:
Share Your Expertise: Give AI your thought process, industry-specific insights, real-life examples & case studies.
Feed AI with Quality Data: Strong research = strong content. Provide things like industry reports, competitor information, examples, webinars, podcasts - you can even interview an SME and upload the video.
Define Your Brand Voice: Tell AI exactly how to sound like you. A clear tone makes AI-generated content feel human.
Unlock ChatGPT With These Pro Moves
Most people treat ChatGPT like a casual chatbot. The smart ones turn it into a powerhouse. If you’re only using ChatGPT for basic conversations, you’re missing out.

How to Write Prompts That Actually Work
Most people don’t realize that bad prompts lead to bad AI results. If you’ve ever asked ChatGPT for something and gotten a weird, vague, or just plain wrong answer, it’s probably because your prompt wasn’t clear enough.
The good news? You can fix this with a few simple tweaks. Here’s how:
1️⃣ Be Specific (Vague Prompts Get Vague Answers)
If you ask ChatGPT “Tell me about Python,” it doesn’t know if you mean the snake or the programming language. Instead, say:
"Explain Python (the programming language) to a beginner in three bullet points."
2️⃣ Give It a Role to Play
ChatGPT does better when you tell it who it is. Want marketing advice? Make it a CMO. Need legal info? Make it an AI legal assistant.
"You’re a SaaS CMO. Give me five growth tactics for early-stage startups."
3️⃣ Show an Example of What You Want
Want a certain writing style? Give an example. AI learns fast when you show it what “good” looks like.
"Rewrite this LinkedIn post in the style of a Fortune 500 executive. Here’s an example of the tone I like: [insert text]."
4️⃣ Keep Tweaking Until It’s Right
If the first response isn’t perfect, don’t start from scratch. Just tweak the prompt:
Instead of “That’s not what I wanted,” try “Make this answer more concise” or “Add humor to this response.”
5️⃣ Ask for Multiple Options
Why settle for one idea when you can get 10?
"Give me five headline variations for a LinkedIn post about AI adoption."
Most people blame AI when they get bad results. But great prompts lead to great outputs. Use these strategies, and you’ll instantly get better, clearer, and more useful responses.
